Fact Or Fiction?
- If it's on sale, it must be a good deal. FICTION! Sales don't always mean the item is worth buying. Be sure you know what the original price is, whether or not you have a coupon, and if the item often goes on sale before you decide to purchase it.
- I can use more than one coupon per item. FACT! Yes, you can use one manufacturer's coupon AND one store coupon per item in the same transaction! Certain instances may require an additional "filler" item be purchased (i.e. Wags requires you to have one item per q, so if you have a mfr q and a Wags q you want to use on the same item, then pick up a cheap filler like gum or candy to meet their requirements)
- I can only use one coupon on a BOGO deal. FICTION! In most cases, you can use 2, 3, or even 4 coupons on a BOGO! This is true when you have a mfr's q or when you are shopping a store sale because you are still technically purchasing two items. This deal is really great when you can combine a BOGO mfr's q with a BOGO store sale and get both items free!
- Scenario 1: You have a mfr's BOGO coupon, let's say it's buy a deodorant and get a body wash free. You also have a $1 q for the deodorant. You can use both because the BOGO coupon applies to the free body wash and the $1 q applies to the deodorant. One coupon for each item! If you really want to get fancy, you could even combine a store qs with your mfr qs for extra savings.
- Scenario 2: The store is advertising a BOGO sale and you have 2 mfr's qs for the items. You are still able to use both qs because you are purchasing 2 items - it just so happens that the store is paying for one of those items. In some cases you may even be able to combine a store q with a mfr q on the item you are actually paying for.
- Scenario 3: The store has a BOGO deal AND you have a BOGO mfr's q - jackpot!! That item has now become free! When you combine these two, the store is covering the cost of one item with their sale and the mfr is covering the cost of the other with their q!
- Using a coupon in any way that violates the specified restrictions is coupon fraud and a felony. FACT! This is not to be taken lightly. Do not try to use a coupon for anything other than its specific purpose. Do not copy internet coupons. Do not try to use an expired coupon. Not only do these actions give ethical couponers a bad name, it is felony punishable by actual prison time if you are caught. Trust me, the amount you may save is absolutely not worth it. Coupons are meant to provide the consumer financial relief. If you are able to ethically and legally work the discounts in your favor, do so - but don't abuse the system.
